The station is located in the east of the city, just blocks from the University of Michigan campus. It connects Indianapolis with Canada and is the only train station in the country with direct connections to the USA and Canada.
Amtrak offers daily service to East Lansing, and Greyhound offers intercity train and bus service from its depot, which is within walking distance of the University of Michigan campus, with public transportation also available. You can also take a bus from the Capital Area Transit Authority (CATA), which operates between the capital and the city of Lansing in the eastern part of the state.
If you plan to travel further, leave your car at home and catch the Michigan Amtrak train service to the University of Michigan campus in East Lansing or Michigan State University in Ann Arbor. Stroll to the MSU Museum, where you will find a great archive and historical collection that focuses on the history of the university and its students, faculty and graduates, as well as the humanities and arts. In 2012, a contemporary museum opened on the campus of the University of Michigan, and a national show withdrew from Michigan. Local artists bring their work to light and present their thoughts - provocative exhibitions, from local artists to national and international artists, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lansing.
The center is located on the MSU campus and is home to the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, which gives 17 concerts a year for free. The 55 Summer Concert Series will feature live music from the region on Friday and Saturday in downtown East Lansing. The festival will take place on Saturday, July 16, from 4-8 p.m. at the Michigan State University Center for the Arts.
Visit Lansing Art Gallery and Education Center to see a variety of artworks by local artists and other artists from across the state. There you can visit the Michigan State University Center for the Arts and the East Lansing Museum of Art.
You can visit the Michigan State Capitol, the Lansing Museum of Art and the East Lansing Public Library. Lansing has a facility on Lake Lansing, where sailing regattas are held in the summer months. You can learn more about the history of the city in the Historical Museum and in the Old Lansing Town Hall. Lansing is the state's largest library with more than 1,000 books and magazines and has one of the largest collections of Lansing history books.
