Michigan State leads the CCHA in all-time wins, is second in CCHA Conference Championships with 7 and is first in the CCHA Tournament Championships with 11. The Spartans have not had it easy, though, finishing the series 3-5-1 in the conference and 1-4-2 overall.

The Spartans have won 15 consecutive games at Spartan Stadium since they won 19 consecutive games between 1950 and 1953, the longest winning streak in college football history. Spartan men's basketball won the NCAA National Championship in 1979 and 2000, reached the Final Four eight times (1998-1999 season), and won the NCAA National Championship in 1998 and 1999. The Spartans finished last season with an 11-4-1 record and picked up 11 wins for the first time in Spartans history and their best finish in the Big Ten Conference since 2011-12 (10-3).
