I'm an MSU student, returning in the fall for my fifth year after withdrawing last year to take care of things. Some of my friends are still in town, but many have graduated. I'm looking forward to meeting lots of new people this year.

I have two majors: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology/Biotechnology and Telecommunications, and an internship with a small marketing research firm doing quantitative work. Pretty random, huh?

What I want to do is design vidya gaems. I added that telecom major for its game design specialization after reaching a brick wall of disinterest and unhappiness focusing on biochem. So, my goal this year is to work my butt off and get a foot in the door and start making my way to my dream job.

The "Five Dollar Footlong" song was originally written about me and my days as a cheap male prostitute. I would make a great parent if my baby loved to go out drinking. Just remember, even if you're not getting any, life still fcuks us all, so grab it by the nipples instead of the horns. There may be plenty of fish in the sea, but most aren't worth catching; besides, I don't like fishing or seafood. I speak two languages: sarcasm and innuendo. On the road to my heart, grab me some Taco Bell.

The lightswitch in my bathroom is upside down, so when you turn it ON, it says NO. Reminds me of girls who want to take things slow and get to know you better first.

I grew up in China until I finished high school, and of course, those early years have significantly shaped my skills, beliefs and interests. I try my best to be open-minded, but I believe I would be more comfortable with those like-minded. I am a little nerdy and can come off as quite shy, but in fact I really enjoy philosophical debates.

I'm currently a student at Michigan State University (GO GREEN!!) and I'm majoring in Psychology. Honestly, I hate self summaries because I never know how to describe myself. But my friends have described me to other people as a cool, laid back guy that loves to have fun.

Spent five years on a submarine and now I'm going to school. More than anything in the world I love sitting around talking about all the philosophical aspects of the world around us; politics, political philosophy, physics, space, psychology, feminism, gender roles, human rights and on and on. There's nothing I don't enjoy discussing. Other than spending as much time as possible conversing and thinking, I like to read, play the occasional video game and find as many new beers in the world to try.

I'm interested in finding an activities partner. Someone who enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, canoing, weekend music festivals, road trips, or anything to do with the great outdoors. I want to find a activities partner and friend first then move on from there. I have no interest in one night stands or short term sexually relationships. A long term relationship seems more my style except this website has all my matches in Chicago or Ann Arbor areas.

On the surface I seem to be the typical college student, but once you dig a little deeper there's definitely more there than the average "party hard" MSU student. And I hate to brag, but I may just be the funniest person you could ever meet. I enjoy cooking, in fact the biggest perk in my eyes of living at school is just being able to make my own food. I have an excellent memory and am a sucker for the romantic. Whoever I'm with has to be able to joke around and definitely not take things so seriously. That may be my biggest fault: not taking many things seriously. I'm super down to earth and, as cliche as this may sound, just love to laugh. My family is the most important thing in my life right now, without them I can't even say where I'd be. My best friend just may be my dog Ari, a labradoodle...but definitely the coolest labradoodle you'd ever meet.

Ok, now back to how I last had my profile before:

I don't have a soul, but I was saving money to have one custom-made out of fog and street lights. And by that, I mean that I like 60's jazz a lot. Not that I really believe in souls, except as a convenient shorthand for epiphenomenal stuff or whatever. Like when someone said that my soul smells like damp pine needles, and I was sort of flattered because it makes me think of gin. I used to drink gin, but then I moved to Michigan for grad school and found out about microbrews.

I used to have a post-repressed rant about hangups and such, but then I got bored with all that and it looked somewhat and pathetic and a little creepy/needy/solipsist or something, and I cut it.

Honestly, I'm a fairly typical sample of what a commenter on the blog Pharyngula is like, so if that's the kind of person you like, there you have it. My job is math, so I'm not bad at understanding intricate things explained clearly, but I get bored/frustrated with and don't always try to pick up hints. I've gotten somewhat better about that, but I don't think I've used up my lifetime's worth of social blunders resulting from not having had something explained properly to me before yet.

I'm kind of old enough to eventually start thinking long-term and serious and whatever, but I'm finicky and don't always seem to bond much, so I don't know how that's going to work out, ultimately.

I'm a very straight-acting gay male. I say that not to sound rude to those who are more feminine, it's just who I am. Most people are actually surprised to find out I'm gay.

I enjoy hanging out with friends and family. I have 8 gorgeous nieces and nephews.

I like to travel even though I don't get to do it very often. Chicago and Las Vegas are my new favs.

I jog daily. It's almost like a spiritual zen-like feeling for me. But don't get me wrong. Some days it pisses me off, but I still do it.

I try to surround myself with fun, smart, compassionate people. My friends and family are amazing. I'm probably the luckiest person I know.

I lived in Chicago for nearly 18 years, then came to Michigan for college and now I'm living in East Lansing. I enjoy playing sports, watching movies with my friends, and going out to different restaurants and trying different things. I'm a pretty laid back person with a pretty good sense of humor.

I'm a recent Ph.D. who both takes herself seriously and loves to laugh at herself. I'm a story-teller; whether it is about my life overseas (I lived and taught in Turkey and Venezuela for a total of 7 years), my family or just something that happened in class, I love to share it. I enjoy being outdoors and active. I bike commute. During grad school, in my 'free' time, I supported Habitat for Humanity by buying building supplies to finish fixing up my "project" house or by helping to build a house. Most of my house projects these days about design -- new paint colors and art -- but I have big ideas for kitchen and backyard overhauls. I'm waiting until after my three year review to get started on those. :-) I also clean up well for dancing or a show.

I should probably mention that I am a die-hard Red Sox fan and I bleed burnt orange during college football and basketball seasons.

I'm also "mom" to three cats. I used to be involved in rescue and the three I have were the ones I couldn't give away. I've had my boys since they were 2 weeks old and bottle feeding and sometimes I think they really do think I'm their mom.

I'm the typical college student I suppose, too broke to do much other than live outside my means while having fun. I find the whole charade a bit pointless (college that is, not having fun), not a big fan of the corporate america promise of weath and success, because I know it isn't always true. However, I run the rat race regardless and it's not all bad because I've met an amazing amount of different people and some great friends along the way. I balance my college slacker-ness with the military, taking at least one weekend out of my month to go do "Army training", which I must say I enjoy far better than college. Other than that, I'm of the persuasion to try everything once, twice if you like it, and all about enjoying life as much as society permits. Holler

These things are always hard to fill out, yeah? Generally one comes off sounding either really boring or as a raging egomaniac. This is a problem, as I don't like people to know that I am a raging egomaniac until they know me a little better.

However, in an attempt to self-summarize-- I am a science geek turned lawyer. I thought I would become a patent attorney, but as it turns out the details of murder, arson and the like are much more interesting than deciding the obviousness or non-obviousness of an invention to a Person Holding Ordinary Skill In The Art (PHOSITA). (There are patent lawyers who name their daughters Phosita. If one of these daughers decides to kill their parents for giving them a stupid name, I'm pretty sure I could get them off. But I digress.)

Anyway, I decided to become a criminal lawyer. I figure with Michigan basically becoming a Third World economy, if I can't get a job as a prosecutor, I can always defend people and profit off their misery. Christ. No wonder people hate lawyers.

I'm a recent graduate of WMU. I'm now in East Lansing working as an auditor for the State of Michigan. It's about as exciting a job as it sounds! I keep telling myself that I'm lucky to have a job at all in this economy, but still...an auditor for the state? Geez.

I recently graduated from Michigan State and I'm trying to figure out the next step. Right now, I live with my cats and work at the bookstore. Thought I'd try this out, maybe find people who share my interests in science, music, the outdoors and literature.

The pictures aren't accurate really, except for the first few, I've lost a fair amount of weight lately. My face isn't as chubby anymore.

I like to spend time in gardens or with animals. I have two cats, siblings, named Alice and Cheshire (guess my favorite book?). I enjoy being outdoors and you might even go so far as to call me solar powered. I need to go outside all the time to stay in a good mood.

I'm a forensic animator by trade, but do a lot of videography, graphic design, web development and writing for my job as well. I work on my own independent animated films on weekends, teach animation at the local community center and am looking at expanding my teaching into the local universities. I love visiting Canada and travel there whenever possible--one of the great things about living in Michigan is you're within driving distance. Other than that, I write, watch movies, go indoor wall climbing, play the occasional game, am learning Russian, and fit sleep into the schedule whenever possible. As you can probably tell, I'm a type-A person who can manage their time reasonably well. That's pretty much what I'm looking for in a woman: someone who is as 'type-A' as I am, can start out being an activity partner who shares my love for adventure, and is open to being more if we click. Go old man life! ha no not really. Currently I'm a graduate student in Engineering at MSU. I like to think of my self as a cultured person. I love older music...i.e operas and such. My self summary.... This seems to be the hardest question. As you prolly figured out.. I'm me.. oh my names Mike. I have no idea what to write about myself. I like my job (Contractor), and where I live (Haslett). My friends are retartedly(add that word to the dictionary) great, as is my family. I feel allot older then my friends, and much younger then my mentors. I think that's how it works though. Meh read the rest, I'm not good at describing myself.

I'm an easygoing guy who is interested in just about everything. If I there's a place I haven't gone, an activity I haven't tried, or skill I haven't learned, I want to give it a shot. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I lose interest, but in the end, life is nothing but the sum of your experiences and the people you meet.

Although I sit behind a computer fo a living, you're just as likely to find me outdoors as in. I really enjoy hiking, biking, camping, snowboarding, running, and anything else that lets me enjoy nature. I also like to spend time reading, watching movies, listening to music and playing a little piano or guitar.

Adaptable. That's me in a nut shell. I can hang/repair drywall, re-shingle a roof, fix a computer, repair a television (well, maybe), go to a conference and network with professionals, give presentations to elected officials... among many other things. It might be cliche, but I really am an all around guy. Jeans and a t-shirt or dress clothing, it doesn't matter too much. I can adapt and go with the flow of what's going on around me.

If I had to list my passions, I would say (1) learning and (2) hockey... though maybe not in that order. I do like to learn new things, regardless of content. I've been called a sponge when it comes to absorbing information. That doesn't mean I go around spouting off what I know, but I'm always curious to see what else is out there to learn. And of course, I truly do enjoy a good hockey game. I don't play as much as I used to (team disbanded), but it's a great game to watch/play.

Hobbies are similarly diverse. In my spare time you can either find me reading a book, rollerblading, playing paintball... or anything else that comes up. Recently I've started building wooden model ships. I'm a big fan of the Olive Garden, though I'm not sure why. Chicago is nice place to go hang out on the weekend with the right company. So is the UP or just about any other place. It's more about the company than a specific activity.

In grad school, I rarely find the time to go out, but when I do I have a good time. I would like to meet a mature girl/woman...one who is independent and not clingy, but also capable of committing at least for a while...I've never online dated before please be gentle.

I have been divorced going on 8 years this April. I have 2 incredible teenage children and one adorable Boxer. I am easy going, active, great sense of humor, caring, honest, self-sufficient, financially secure,

I graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in General Management.
I do like to play video games and watch a little anime but they're hardly an obsession. I like to work out, usually a mixture of some weights, running, and biking.
I am a former swimmer but I have hardly touched a pool since. I can't seem to just play around in a pool anymore, it's laps or nothing now haha. I love football, go Carolina Panthers! I'm obviously a big MSU Spartans fan as well! (Too bad both football teams are very underachieving this year) I have no logical reason for liking the Panthers considering I've never even been close to either of the Carolinas.

When it comes to music I'm definitely a metalhead. Usually sticking with metalcore and similar music styles. I do like other stuff, but it's pretty random such as Michael Jackson, Disney songs, Paramore, Ministry of Sound...etc.

I'm also incredibly sarcastic. It's pretty easy to pick up on after a little bit of conversation, but basically if it seems like I'm coming off as an ass 90% of the time I don't mean it.

I am relatively new to East Lansing, and I am loving it thus far. I am a shy person by nature, but once you get to know me I can talk your ear off. Don't walk around with my trucker hat on sideways or saying "that's hot"; you think that's really trendy, but really "it's not". I have friends of all size and race. Forget about the last round and pay attention to the new deal. The cards will always be dealt, so get ready, and stop dwelling on the way you felt. Learn from what you been through and focus on where you're going to. The road of life isnâ??t always smooth. I am a graduate student in mathematics at Michigan State. My car is filled with garbage, and occasionally i work.

Hey I'm Mike I love going out and doing ANYTHING! haha I am usually up for a challenge and am willing to try anything once. I am VERY talkative and either you love it or hate it.

In some ways, I have to be seen to be believed. I'm a young guy with a fairly old soul. My predilections in entertainment, for example, skew a bit towards the more dated end of the spectrum. I've got the "More Old-Fashioned" badge in my profile, so make of that what you will.

Speaking of badges, I've also somehow merited the "more thrifty" badge as well. Well, I'm not made of money, but I'm not cheap. If I feel you're worth it, you'll be pampered. I think the questions that pegged me as "More thrifty" dealt with how willing I'd be to dish out more cash for trendier clothes and other things. Truth is, I'm just not materialistic. Designer labels are not a must for me. If they are for you, fine. Just don't ask me to go shopping with you then, because I generally don't know Versace from Ralph Lauren.

I'm rather introverted, at least until I'm behind closed doors (meant both in the G- and X-rated ways). I can make myself comfortable in social settings; however, if I feel you're trying to pump information out of me, as opposed to casual and genial conversation, I will clam up. Seemingly contradictory, though, I am a pretty playful person. Don't know if I'd go so far as to say "Big kid", but I am pretty silly person and enjoy making people laugh.

I'm very much into music, it's part of my career, as I'm a radio dj ("air talent" is the more appropriate term, since we don't spin discs anymore), but really, I try to take it with me wherever I go. Do not, however, try to get me on the dance floor. I cannot dance. I wouldn't mind learning how to dance, but I'm nowhere near club-ready caliber. For me, the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame is like the Oscars or the NFL. When it's that season, I can get pretty pre-occupied with it. As far as musical skills, I'm out of practice, but I can play piano and low-brass instruments. I like to sing, particularly in harmony with what's playing, but I'm not a karaoke kind of person.

I wouldn't say I'm generally pessimistic, but there are times when I can be so. Let's just say Murphy's Law is always a part of any plan I make, often in a comedic pratfall kind of way.

I consider myself fairly intellectual, but I try not to be condescending or pretentious about it. I'm resolute in my Christian faith, but I don't proselytize.

Hmmmm. I am just out looking to meet some new and interesting people. I am looking to meet someone who thinks outside of the box, is obsessed with music like I am and is basically a good honest person. Music is my life. I love to create it and listen. Mostly I listen to indie and electronic, but I love all types. As long as it's good. haha. Yes, I can be a bit of a music snob, but by no means am I pretentious. I'm probably one of the most laid back and down to earth person you'll ever meet. Plus, I am pretty easy to please. I've found that all I really need in life is my family, good friends and some good tunes and I'm set.

I would say that I am eclectic. Most would say that I offer more than what meets the eye. It is interesting to keep people guessing. I have a quirky sense of humor, down-to-earth and intuitive. I am originally from the Metro Detroit area and love the Big 10 and the Wings. My MP3 player would be the only thing I would have with me if I were stranding on a deserted island! I currently reside in East Lansing. I was born and raised in Las Vegas, NV. I've attended Catholic school my entire life - 13 years so far. So, naturally, I'm not Catholic... Well, anymore. I moved to Madison, WI, 2 weeks after I turned 18, to attend Edgewood College. I attended for a year, but due to extenuating circumstances, have had to take a bit of a leave from college for now.

Ok well for some reason this is the hardest essay to do. There really is only so much you can say before you either seem full of yourself or completely insane. As for me I think I am a bastardization of the two. I am a very laid back person but will be passionate about certain things. I like to laugh and have fun and if anything I like to keep things interesting. However this usually ends up being a bad thing.

Lets see I spend most of my time behind a computer screen but that is mostly cause of my degree. Its really hard to do anything with multimedia or graphics without one.
I like to go and do outside activities anything new and fun. That is during the summer the winter sucks balls. The things I usually do outside ranger from Frisbee Golf to basketball and when I have a chance hit the beach as much as possible. Although I found that I am running out of people who can actually come out and play.
Besides that I am heavy into video games. Its an addiction that I am slowly moving away from. But at least I never started the life-absorbing WOW. I really cant stand that fancy whack-a-mole game.
